A simple smoothie recipe is something you should always have in your arsenal; one that you can quickly put together whenever you need a bit of a pick-me-up.
This recipe we’ve put together here is exactly the sort of thing you need. The ginger is good for you in all kinds of ways, as are the banana and oats. Everything else just makes it taste incredible.

What you need:
1 banana, chopped and frozen
190g low-fat vanilla ice cream
Thumb-sized piece of ginger
1 tsp honey
1 tbsp rolled oats
Milk to loosen
What you need to do:
Before you start, chop up the banana and pop it in the freezer overnight. This is key in making your smoothie…well, a smoothie.
1. Finely grate the ginger and pop it into a blender along with the rest of the ingredients (except the milk).
2. Blend until smooth and check the mixture. If it seems too thick, add a splash of milk to loosen it up.
